In an endeavor to encourage people from minority communities to inspire from famous personalities who are successful and are from minority communities, the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs is planning to rope in big names from the field of sports and film industry to be the brand ambassador of department.
Ministry has approached some selective names like Sania Mirza, Shah Rukh Khan, Irrfan Khan, Milkha Singh and spiritual leader Dalai Lama among others.
An official from The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs on condition of anonymity shared the details. “Total five ambassadors will be appointed from five minority communities in country. The project is the brain child of minister to Ministry of Minority Affairs K Rahman Khan, which aims to inspire people from minority communities through the achievements of famous personalities. Shah Rukh Khan, Irrfan Khan, Boman Irani, tennis player Sania Mirza, boxer Meri Com, athlete Milkha Singh and spiritual leader Dalai Lama have been approached by the ministry.
Milkha Singh has given his confirmation while Dalai Lama has given his blessing for the project.”
